The CPS was inspired by a deep-rooted desire to facilitate change from gender-blind responses to terrorism towards advancing a human rights and gender-sensitive approach to terrorism prevention and response. From our perspective, the lack of a women’s rights-sensitive perspective in terrorism prevention and response creates barriers for developing effective strategies and often contributes to the emergence of additional security threats.
